Method 47

Methylene Bisphenyl Isocyanate (MDI)

This method is for the determination of methylene bisphenyl isocyanate (MDI).  The sample is collected on a open-face glass fiber filter coated with 1.0 mg of 1-(2-pyridyl) piperazine (1-2PP).  After collection the sample is extracted with 90/10 (v/v) acetonitrile/dimethyl sulfoxide (ACN/DMSO) and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using an ultraviolet (UV) or fluorescence detector.
