Method 87

m-, o- and p-Phenylenediamine

This method describes the sample collection and analysis of ortho-, meta-, and para-phenylenediamine. Samples are collected closed-face by drawing known volumes of air through sampling devices consisting of three-piece cassettes, each containing two sulfuric acid-treated glass fiber filters separated by the ring section. The sample filters are extracted with an aqueous EDTA solution and the extracts are analyzed for the free amines by HPLC using a UV detector.
