Method 3C

Determination of Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrogen, and Oxygen from Stationary Sources

This method is used for the collection and analysis of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrogen (N2), and oxygen (O2) in samples from municipal solid waste landfills and other sources.  The collected sample is analyzed by GC/TCD (thermal conductivity detector).

The method does not state any holding times from collection to analysis, however, it is recommended to analyze the samples as soon as possible after collection.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
