Method 5004

Hydroquinone

This method is for the determination of hydroquinone.  The sample is collected on cellulose ester membrane filter.  Immediately after sample collection the filter is removed from the cassette housing to a glass jar and 10mLs of 1% acetic acid is added to the jar.  This jar is sent to lab for analysis HPLC/UV.  This method can be used when significant concentrations of hydroquinone vapor are not present.

The working range of the method is 0.7 to 8 mg/m³ for a 90 L air sample or 2 to 25 mg/m³ for a 30 L air sample.

NOTE: This is method S57 in a revised format.
