Method PV2005

Acrylic acid and Methacrylic Acid


This method is for the collection and analysis of acrylic and methacrylic acid.  The sample is collected on two Anasorb 708 tubes connected in series.  After collection, the tubes are desorbed in 2mL of methanol and analyzed by HPLC with UV detection.

NOTE:  This is a partially validated method.

Holding Time:   The recoveries of both compounds was above 99% when stored at ambient (24°C)or refrigerated (-4°C) temperatures for 14 days.
Preservatives:   Store samples at ambient or refrigerated temperatures.
Required Preps:   Anasorb 708 tube, 100mg (SKC 226-30-08)
Collection Method:   The method recommends a flow rate of 0.1 L/min. and a 24L sample collection volume.
