Methyl Iodide by GC/FID


This method is used for the determination of methyl iodide. The sample is collected on charcoal sorbent tubes, is desorbed in toluene and allowed to stand for 8 hours prior to analysis by GC/FID. The working range of this method is 10 to 100 mg/m³ (1.7 to 17ppm) for a 50 L air sample. High humidity during sampling will decrease breakthrough volume. Note: This method revises Method S98.
