Method 2517

Pentachloroethane by GC/ECD

This method is for the determination of pentachloroethane. The sample is collected on Porapak R sorbent tubes, desorbed in 2 mL of hexane and ultrasonicated for 30 minutes, followed by GC analysis with a 63Ni electron capture detector system. The working range is 0.01 to 20 mg/m³ (0.001 to 2.4 ppm) for a 5 L air sample. NOTE: This method revises P&CAM 335.
