Method 2527

Nitromethane by GC/NPD

This method is for the determination of nitromethane. The sample is collected on Chromosorb 106 sorbent tubes, desorbed in 5 mL of ethyl acetate, and analyzed by GC/NPD. The working range is 60 to 360 ppm (150 to 900 mg/m³) for a 2 L air sample. NOTE: This method revises Method S220.

Preservatives:   Store at room temperature (25°C) and separate front and back sorbent sections during shipment.
Required Preps:   Solid sorbent tubes: Chromosorb 106, 600 mg/300 mg, 10cm x 10mm OD x 8mm ID
Collection Method:   Solid sorbent tube: 1.2 - 3 L @ 0.01 - 0.05 L/min.
