Method 2544

Nicotine

This method is for the collection and analysis of nicotine from a workplace air sample. The sample is collected on an XAD-2 sorbent tube, desorbed in ethyl acetate, and analyzed by GC/NPD (nitrogen phosphorus detector).

The working range of the method is 0.3 to 2 mg/m³ for a 100L air sample. The probable useful range of this method is likely to extend to lower concentrations than the analytical range specified.

NOTE: This is method S293 in a revised format.
