Method 5502

Aldrin & Lindane by GC/ECD

This method is for the determination of aldrin and lindane. Samples are collected on glass fiber filters and extracted in glass midget bubblers containing 15mL of isooctane. The sample is then analyzed by gas chromatography with an electrolytic conductivity detector. The working range is 0.05 to 1.5 mg/m³ of Aldrin or Lindane for a 90-L air sample. Evaporation of isooctane from the bubbler necessitates refilling the bubbler frequently. Note: This method combines and replaces S275 and S290.
