Method ID-185

Vanadium Pentoxide in Workplace Atmospheres

This method is for the collection and analysis of vanadium pentoxide from workplace air.  The sample is collected on a low-ash polyvinyl chloride (PVC) filter.  A 10mm nylon cyclone can be attached after the filter cassette if fume sampling is needed.  After collection, the filter is dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF), transferred to a silver membrane filter, and analyzed by XRF (X-ray diffraction).
